About the Award
When
we recognize and honor our youth for volunteering their
time, their talents to be of service to others in the community, we
encourage our youths who are setting an example of kindness and
decency in our community. |

recognized on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 |

| Earn
the Award |
Volunteer your services, your time, your talents to local
community churches, groups or
organizations. To volunteer
means you do not receive compensation for
your work.
|
Look for opportunities where you can best utilize special
talents.
|

| Guidelines |
Recipients are eligible to receive the award once every 12
months. |
Award Recommendations
Nominations may be submitted by an Scott County organization, churches,
businesses or individuals.
Nominations made by family members (parents,
grandparents, brothers, sisters) will not
be accepted.
Nominations will be judged on volunteer
work only, doing service work for which
the nominees are compensated for their time
should not be included in the
description of volunteer work.
Applications must be submitted by July
10, 2006. They can be mailed to
the Scott County Partners for
Youth Council, 303 Court Street, Scott City, KS.

open to the public at 4:00 p.m. the second Tuesday
of every month. |

Volunteer Opportunities
There is no
end to the need for volunteers. There is no end to the
opportunities to volunteer your services. Help the
elderly by
painting an elderly person's house, run errands for an
elderly person
who needs a little assistance. Help younger children by
volunteering
to tutor students, or volunteer as a crossing guard.
Good with computers? Volunteer to
assist non-profit organization
with computer work.
Like to read?
Find opportunities to help people less fortunate learn
to read.
Contact your local community church and non-profit
organizations
to ask about
available opportunities they may have. Youth
Organizations, Day Care Centers, Public Schools,
Neighborhood
Watches, Homeless Shelters, Retirement Centers, Meals on
Wheels
- the possibilities are
endless.
